Sledding

Despite having lived in Utah for almost five years now, I have never been sledding. I have a faint memory of maybe going sledding in Big Bear when I was really young, but that could be completely false.
Towards the end of January we finally had a good snow storm and decided to go sledding. We went to Cascade Elementary School in Orem where Johann use to work. The park behind the school has a nice hill and there weren't too many other people so we had a lot of space.
Henry cried almost the whole way there but the second we started sledding he had a blast. We took him down on our laps but then that wouldn't do. We thought he was getting scared but turns out, he wanted to go on his own. He sat on one of the sleds and started scooting to try and make his way to the edge of the hill. We took him to a less steep area and he did a couple successful runs by himself and loved it. If it ever actual snows again this winter (and I'm not complaining if it doesn't) we will definitely go again.

Henry going it solo

How fun! My girls wanted to go sleding so bad when we went to Utah in January but it was all ice. Sounds like Henery will be hoping for more snow (sorry Deb!) : )

I finished Anna Karenina a couple days ago (at 4 am...oops). The end was trippy. I'm glad he put part 8 in there because you really need it to help heal after everything else. The library here has a GREAT English selection and I almost checked out Chekhov's short stories after you mentioned them...but I went with War and Peace to continue my Leo Tolstoy kick instead. I'll get to them all eventually. :) I loved both Vanity Fair and Middlemarch, but they're definitely not a short detour...they took me weeks lol. I haven't heard of the other book you mentioned (too long of a title to remember) but I'll look into it when I go home. Great as the Qingdao Library is, I doubt it stretches that far...

P.S. (I always forget something after I hit publish) Moliere is great. I love his plays. One of the perks of being a French minor I guess. I haven't heard of Tartuffe though...a new one to put on my list. I like L'avare and Le bourgeois gentilhomme.
